why i love to prepare food
My love of cooking began in my grandmother’s kitchen, where food from a carefully tended garden and freshly gathered seafood were transformed into delicious meals. This simple food prepared with love and attention was shared at a large table filled with family and friends.
I truly believe that food has the ability to connect us more deeply with ourselves, others, and our environment. True nourishment is so much more than just the food we eat.
Fresh ingredients and love are my top priorities when I cook. Plant-based foods are my specialty, but I also prepare lovely meals with meat and dairy raised locally, as well as wild game and fish. I love working creatively and colorfully with fresh ingredients that are in season. I make everything from scratch, and happily support the unique and the heirloom, grown of sovereign seeds.

MY PASSION FOR COOKING & NOURISHMENT
The majority of my culinary energy goes into cooking for retreats, private families or groups.
Cooking for retreats has expanded my capabilities as a chef. Versatility is crucial in the retreat setting. I have worked in many unique spaces, from outdoor kitchens with limited resources and phenomenal views, to commercial retreat center kitchens, to private hot springs, and everything in between. I often cook in vacation rentals and private homes.
Having attended and catered to so many different types of retreats, I am well versed in creations for any and all dietary needs and food sensitivities. I am also mindful of the flow and timing of retreats. I am sensitive to times of quiet. I work with “diets” to plan meals that are not too rich or filling, in anticipation of different activities. Everywhere I travel I seek out the local organic and sustainable farms to find the most colorful, fresh, and lovingly tended ingredients.
I bring my massage table to many of my multi-day engagements, to offer Therapeutic Massage and body work. My true passion lies in incorporating many elements of wellness and nourishment to life. I have been practicing massage for over 12 years. I have also practiced mindfulness and meditation for over 10 years. Lately, I am working closely with nervous system resilience. It is important to me to recognize how everything is connected when we delve into the realm of true health and wellness.
I love to work with clients who have embarked on a path of healing and wellness through holistic nourishment. Connecting with what we eat, and how we nourish ourselves on all levels, helps us connect with our bodies and our intuition. I have clients who require very specific diets for dis-ease in their systems. Healing requires that we gain awareness of the many layers of life and honor that we are a part of a holistic interconnected world.
Food can also be healing simply in its celebratory nature. I love cooking decadent creative meals that bring people together.
I am perfectly comfortable cooking in private homes. I love to work closely with a family or individualS to design gorgeous bespoke creations. I bring MY integrity and care everywhere I go.
When we become more connected to our food, we are more IN TUNE to how our body feels. This allows us to trust more deeply in our intuition. This is where healing begins.
The mountains and valleys where I live are filled with wild foods. I forage morel mushrooms and tender wild greens in the spring. Late summer brings a bounty of Porcini, Chanterelle, and wild berries. These are true gifts of the land. I harvest everything with integrity, permission and reverence for the places I visit.

Every spring I plant a garden and greenhouse. I am constantly learning from the plants. During the season I spice up every offering with fresh garden ingredients. This connection that I have with the ingredients from my garden, elevate my creations to another level of love and care.
